Garfield Neighborhood Initiative

The Mission of the Garfield Neighborhood Initiative is to love and care for our neighbors in the Garfield Elementary School area while assisting with neighborhood beautification efforts.

Since 2011, Enid First Church of the Nazarene has partnered with the Garfield Neighborhood, a lower-income area of Enid. Past projects have included: bridge painting, alley clean-up, lawn work, dead tree removal, house painting, and amending city code violations. All work is done at no cost to the residents and simply as a volunteer service to the neighborhood. It is our way to give back to the community of Enid.

GNI01Additionally, as a part of this partnership, we have committed to praying and supporting the teachers, staff, and students of the Garfield Elementary School. Recent activities have included: installing and painting of tetherball poles, painting four-square courts, providing small teachers' gifts for Christmas and Teacher Appreciation Week, and donating back-to-school supplies.

If you live in the Garfield Neighborhood and need assistance with any of these areas, please contact the church office at (580) 234-4781.
